The International Watch Company is rather unique, it is a Swiss watchmaker and there of course isn’t much that is ‘different’ there aren’t all watchmakers based in Switzerland is Swiss? Actually the answer is no and The International Watch Company proves that there is an exception to the rule.

The International Watch Company was founded by an American with a rather uniquely un-American name Florentine Ariosto Jone and it seems that Florentine Ariosto Jone wanted to make life difficult for himself and his fledgling watch making company because he founded it in the wrong part of Switzerland, well the wrong part of Switzerland if you are a watch maker the east of Switzerland.

Of course every one knows – apart from Florentine Ariosto Jone of course – that the best place to start a watch making business is in the west of Switzerland and no it isn’t to do with the water it is more to do with the fact that everyone else is there in the watch making world.
